Landscaping Help: FAQ
Does a lawn care company need a contractor license in Utah?
Not for aeration, fertilizing, power raking or dethatching, which R156-55a-301an exempts. Grading and planting landscapes is in the S330 license scope.
Do I need to call 811 before planting a tree in Utah?
Utah Code 54-8a-4 requires notice before excavating, with exceptions for gardening and tilling private ground. Digging for a tree, fence posts or a retaining wall is excavation, so call Blue Stakes (811) at least 48 hours ahead, counted on business days.
How often should I water my lawn in Utah?
Check the Utah Division of Water Resources Weekly Lawn Watering Guide, which changes each week with the weather.
