Call Blue Stakes before digging
Utah Code 54-8a-4 says that before excavating, an excavator must notify each operator with an underground facility in the area. The notice must be given at least 48 hours (counted on business days, starting at 8 a.m. on the first business day after notice) and no more than 14 days before excavation begins, and must describe the location, dimensions and type of the work. The notice rule does not apply in an emergency, while gardening, or while tilling private ground. Blue Stakes of Utah 811 takes these requests. (source: Utah State Legislature) (source: Blue Stakes of Utah 811)
