Minor plumbing during an appliance or fixture repair
Utah Code 58-55-305(1)(k) exempts minor plumbing work that is incidental, as DOPL defines by rule, to repairing a fixture or an appliance in a residential or small commercial building, as long as no change is made to existing culinary water, soil, waste or vent piping, or to a gas appliance or combustion system. (source: Utah State Legislature)
The same subsection says installing a fixture or an appliance for the first time is not included. (source: Utah State Legislature)
This is the current wording through December 31, 2026. We will check how 58-55-110 handles it once it takes effect.
