Movers Help: FAQ
Can a mover charge more than the estimate?
On an interstate move with a non binding estimate, the mover cannot require more than 110 percent of the estimate at delivery. With a binding estimate you pay the estimate amount, unless a new binding estimate covers added items or services.
How do I spot a moving scam?
FMCSA red flags include no in person or virtual inspection, no written estimate, a demand for cash or a big deposit, and a request to sign blank papers.
