Does a house cleaner need a license in Utah?

Utah Admin. Code R156-55a-301an(1)(g) lists building cleaning, sanitizing, and window washing, including power washing, among activities that do not require a contractor license. (source: Utah Office of Administrative Rules)

Section 301an(4) adds that the exemption does not waive requirements of other state or federal agencies. City business license rules are set locally, so ask your city. (source: Utah Office of Administrative Rules)

Repairs are different. If a cleaner offers to fix drywall, plumbing or electrical items, see Handyman Help for what needs a license.
